ASAM Integration: Six Dimensional Assessment through the Continuum (ASAM-I)

This training is relevant to providers interested in participating in MN’s 1115 Substance Use Disorder System Reform demonstration project. Minnesota published standards for the demonstration incorporating ASAM criteria (PDF) to establish specific residential and outpatient levels of care in October 2020. The federal demonstration, through the implementation of ASAM Criteria, seeks to enhance evidence-based assessment and placement criteria for the purposes of matching individual risk with the appropriate ASAM level of care and increase standards for treatment coordination to ensure care transitions to additional needed services.

Asus. We are seeking addiction treatment champions to learn and implement this widely used and comprehensive set of guidelines from ASAM in their organization.

All applications will be reviewed and scored, (click here to download the scoring rubric,) to determine eligibility and acceptance into the Enhanced Learning Series.

Approved applicants will be notified on Friday, January 22, 2021.

The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria, 3rd Edition, is the most widely used and comprehensive set of guidelines for assessment, placement, treatment planning, continued service, and transfer/discharge of clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders. The Criteria utilizes six dimensions to form a broad assessment, which in turn provides information for service and treatment planning across all levels of care.

This online Enhanced Professional Learning (EPL) interactive series will provide collaborative training and real-time practice opportunities essential to the development and/or refinement of applying Criteria in a clinical setting. Emphasis is placed on applying Criteria for in-depth assessment, proper placement, service and treatment planning, continued service and transfer/discharge of clients.

When:

Thursdays, February 4, 2021 to March 18, 2021
